Chef Bombay. Chicken Biryani Review.

 

I've done a few reviews from this brand (search them on my blog) and today I'm trying the chicken biryani.

This is the biggest I've ever seen frozen meal chicken, some of the pieces were larger than my spoon and it was great but the bigger pieces were a little tougher and more dry. I kinda enjoyed this dish but it was a bit too spicy for me and there is an ingredient in the sauce I'm not a fan of, I also found the sauce gritty. I would not buy it again but I'd maybe eat it if offered and I rate it 3.5/5. Update: my stomach was a little angry but as I suspected going into it.

Arby's. Jalapeno Popper Review.

 

I've done many reviews from this restaurant (search them on my blog) and today I'm trying their jalapeno poppers, this is my first time trying a jalapeno popper. Today I discovered red jalapenos, I had only ever had green ones, so this was a learning experience for me.

I have eaten jalapenos before, so I was nervous going into it, as I find it often too spicy and sure my tongue is numb but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be or that I've had prior. I don't love the texture of the filling, I found it was a bit too gooey for my personal preference but it had a nice seasoned and creamy flavour, like a jalapeno dip. The breading was great, thick enough, nice crunch, held up well (as a lot of breaded veggies struggle to keep the breading on) and the flavour was also nice with not a bad amount of fried taste. I would not buy them again as I didn't love them but I would likely eat them again if offered and I rate them 3.5/5.

Update: my stomach did not like them, my stomach is very angry the day of and the following day, so I would not eat them again if offered, as they were not good enough to be worth doing again.

I've done two other reviews from this brand (search them on my blog) and today I'm trying the alfredo penne.

It had a cheap packet flavour and tasted of just cream no seasoning, other than bits of parsley, it was a bit odd in dairy flavour but I've had worse. Overall I found it not very good and it was quite boring, I would not buy it or eat it again and I rate it 2.5/5

Rap Snacks. Rick Ross Sweet Chili Lemon Pepper Chips Review.

 

I've done one other review from this brand (search it on my blog) and today I'm trying the sweet chili lemon pepper chips.

I was not a fan of these, there was so much lemon flavour, with a muted sweet chili, it was not pleasant. I would not buy them or eat them again and I rate them 2.5/5.

Dainty. Time-Wise. Tomato Basil Rotini Review.

 

I've done one other review from this brand (search it on my blog) and today I'm trying the tomato basil rotini.

I'm surprised, it has a hint of cheap flavour but overall it's good for a microwave meal, for a microwave pasta, it has a little spice to it and it's pretty good in flavour. I would buy it again and I rate it 4/5 for a microwave meal but 3.5/5 based on other pasta I've had. I wanted to note there's less pasta in this packet, than in the mac and cheese and that does disappoint me but it's fine.

Dr Pepper. Creamy Coconut Review.

 

I've seemingly only done one other review from this brand (search it on my blog) and today I'm trying the creamy coconut.

It tastes like coconut body butter or lotion and doesn't go with the dr pepper taste, it's not good. I would not buy it or drink it again and I rate it 2/5.

Ghost. Strawberry Bubblicious Energy Drink Review.

 

I've done a few reviews from this brand (search them on my blog) and today I'm trying the strawberry bubblicious.

Tastes just like Bubblicious which is good, it's nostalgic and tastes good but tastes a little medicine like which kinda ruins it. I would not buy it or drink it again and I rate it 3/5.

Charleston Chew. Chocolate Nougat Candy Bar Review.

 

I've done one other review of this brand and today I'm trying the chocolate one.

It's delicious, it's very different to the vanilla one in inside texture, this is like a Riesen if whipped, or similar to a 3 musketeers bar and I loved it. I just think the chocolate coating is a bit bitter and strong for me, I also find it feels dusted, so it makes sense this bar came out in 1922, it tastes and feels like it but not in a bad way. I would absolutely buy it and eat it again and I rate it 4/5.

I wanted to note that when I tried the vanilla one, it was likely old stock, as it was brittle and snapped almost like a rock, the chocolate ones are brand new to the store and felt a lot more fresh.

Jumbo Dragon. Spareribs, Pepper Steak and More Review.

 

This was my first time trying this restaurant. I got spareribs, pepper steak with veggies, chicken fried rice, wonton soup and an egg roll.

The rice was dry and boring, it had a weird almost cardboard flavour but overall not the worst I've had 3/5.

The pepper steak had an okay flavour but the sauce felt greasy, the meat was not too chewy but I wish it was spicy 3/5.

The veggies had a good crunch but were not great with the sauce but still enjoyable 3.5/5.

The spareribs were slippery, tough and chewy, they were not easy to eat but the sauce was sweet and smoky which was fine 3/5.

The wonton soup, I'm always disappointed they only ever put 4 or so in the soup but it was good, I've never a bad wonton soup. The strips of pork though were boring and a little tough but the pork in the wonton was good, just a bit boring as well but the wonton wrappers were thin and tasted great in the broth, the broth was also really good 4/5.

Lastly the egg roll, it just tasted like oil and bean sprouts, it had a very oily flavour and I could only eat a few bites before tossing it 0/5.

Overall I would not likely order from here again, unless I popped in for the soup, otherwise none of the other items I liked enough to get again and I'm not inclined to try other items, knowing how disappointed I was this time.

Tim Hortons. Pumpkin Spice Filled Muffin Review.

 

I've done many reviews from this restaurant but this is my second pumpkin spice muffin review of theirs (search them on my blog) but today is the new pumpkin spice muffin. My last pumpkin spice muffin was 7 years ago, at the time I hated pumpkin spice but it's grown on me over the years and I thought I'd give it another try.

This muffin was fair, it was not quite enough pumpkin spice flavour for me but it was nice. The cream cheese filling though I felt was too sweet, more sweet than any other cream cheese frosting I have eaten. Overall this was an alright muffin and I did like it more than I thought I would, I went into it with worry but it was fine. I would not likely buy it again but I'd consider eating it if offered and I rate it 3/5.

Del Monte. 1/2 Dipped Bananas Creamy Bar Review.

 

I have done one other review from this brand (search it on my blog) and today I'm trying the 1/2 dipped bananas.

The top half is a banana covered in chocolate and the second half is banana kinda ice cream, it's an interesting concept and tastes pretty good but I did not enjoy biting into it out of personal preference. I don't think I'd buy these or eat them again but I rate them 3.5/5.

This is my first time trying this brand and today I'm trying the mac and cheese.

The smell is like melted sugar and flour, it's so gross and strange but the taste isn't as bad as the smell but it's like hospital food. If it didn't smell like that, it would've been a 3/5 but I would not buy this or eat it again and I rate it 1.5/5.

Nature Valley. Apple Crisp Crunchy Granola Bar Review.

 

I've done a few reviews from this brand (search them on my blog) and today I'm trying the apple crisp bar.

I like the flavour, it has a nice apple crisp flavour and I enjoy the granola crumble with the apple but we all know these are messy and not practical to eat. I would not likely buy them again but maybe eat them again if offered and I rate them 3.5/5.

Bear. Strawberry Fruit Rolls Review.

 

I've done one other review from this brand (search it on my blog) and today I'm trying the strawberry fruit rolls. Sorry again I did not get a second photo, I don't know why I'm missing them from this post and the other post.

The texture is rough, more so than the previous flavour but rough not only as a describing word for the texture but rough as in unpleasant, it certainly has a vegan texture. The flavour is very muted but it is nice strawberry flavour and these are worse in texture than the other flavour, for some reason. I would not buy them or eat them again and I rate them 2/5
