Rice A Roni. Fried Rice Review.

I had never once had rice a roni before, weird I know. I mean I heard it's a popular brand or was at least. It was on sale for once and I was excited to try it out. So this is not instant rice, it's long time rice lol. So it was odd to cook the dry rice and margarine together, before the water. The box said to cook it covered on simmer/low for 15/20 minutes, it mentioned nothing of stirring as it did on the rest of the boxes instructions. So I just put the lid on and didn't stir it, after 15 minutes it was far too watery still, so I turned up the heat to medium and continued cooking it for an extra 5 minutes. Even after 20 min and stirring twice, it was still too watery....like soup basically. I added a final 5 minutes to it and upon stirring it a final time after 25 minutes, it was the proper texture, it was though a tad over cooked at this point but meh what can ya do?

This looks bad, tasted bad, had NO indication on what makes this fried rice and the green things in the rice, I had no idea what they were......this is food you eat when starving and you need to eat just to survive, not to enjoy. I would not be willing to buy this again unless to donate or for a bomb shelter lol! I sadly have one other fried rice box and a chicken one......I will surely be reviewing the chicken rice here on my blog. I rate this fried rice one 1/5.
