Spooky Eats. Gummy Bats Review.

 

This is my first of two Halloween reviews for 2021. Today I'm reviewing these gummy bats I got from Dollarama.

The blue is my least favorite, with orange not bad and I think there's a tie between green and purple. They are not too bad overall and are very fruity each one. They have a good chew to them, soft and squishy and a cute design. I'd consider eating them again but I'm not sure if I would go out of my way again to buy them and I rate them 3.5/5.

La Patisserie. Oreo Mousse and Oatmeal Raisin Cookies Review.

 

I grew up near this bakery but I had never went until now. I got the Oreo Mousse and Oatmeal Raisin cookies.

Each mousse was approx. 6 bucks a piece and they were not good, they tasted almost sugar free and maybe some kind of healthy version either vegan or keto friendly, it was not good. Not the worst thing I've eaten but I wouldn't get it again and I rate it 2/5, as the toppings were probably better than the mousse itself.

The oatmeal raisin cookies came in a pack of 4, they are large in size compared to most cookies and tasted pretty good, I enjoyed them which was a relief from the previous taste test. They cost 6.50 for the bag and I'd consider getting them again and I rate them 4/5.

Cheese Headz. Philly Cheesesteak and Battered Mushrooms Review.

 

I have had my share of steak and cheese sandwich's but never a Philly cheesesteak so I thought I'd finally try one for review, it's of course not authentic but this is just the beginning of the journey. Today I ordered the cheesesteak and battered mushrooms. 

Correction: I have done a review for a philly cheesesteak from Charley's, review is on my blog.

I got both dishes with a garlic mayo and it was SO GOOD, the best mayo I have ever eaten. I'd order it a million times and I rate it 5/5.

The battered mushrooms were AWFUL, they tasted like watery greasy dirt but the mayo made it a little less awful haha, I normally love mushrooms but these were not it. I would not get them again and I rate them 0/5.

Lastly I got a regular cheesesteak with mozzarella cheese, pickles and fried onions (I know these might not be authentic toppings but these are what I like lol). I'm so sad they don't have the options for regular peppers just banana peppers, that's insane to me lol. The meat wasn't too bad, there was not enough cheese, the toppings were good and the bread was soft but in a soggy way. Overall just an okay cheesesteak. I don't think I'd get it again and I rate it 3/5.

Biskwi. Chocolate Filled Cookies Review.

 

I have done a review once before with for this brand (search it on my blog) and this time I'm trying out chocolate filled cookies.

These are so dry but the filling is rich and makes them a bit easier to eat, overall the flavour is fine but I wouldn't get them again and I rate them 2.5/5.

Canova Pasticceria. Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Review.

 

I picked this up at a local grocery store for 2 bucks, I enjoy sweet things like this and I wanted to try it out for review.

It's a very fluffy gooey marshmallow but the chocolate I was not crazy about, it might've been dark or semi sweet. I don't think I'd get it again but I rate it 3/5.

Hurry Curry. Coconut Chicken Curry and Mango Lassi Review.

 

I had not tried coconut chicken curry before and I wanted to try it for review. I also had never had a mango lassi but I heard they were good.

The curry was medium spice just perfect for me (despite me not choosing a spice level) and the chicken was really good, I enjoyed the rice and veggies (I took out the chickpeas I don't like them) but I was not crazy about the curry itself, I would not get it again but I rate it 3/5.

The mango lassi tasted as expected, tasting of milk, yogurt and mango but was very thick, unlike the usual mango drinks I've had. It was just simply done and tasted alright but I was not a big fan overall due to texture. I would not get it again but I rate it also 3/5.

The Fudge Factory. Fuzzy Peaches Review.

 

I just did a review for this company (search it on my blog) and this time I'm doing the fuzzy peaches.

These are pretty good but there is something off about them maybe in taste and more firm than usual texture, they are almost on the line of vegan tasting, I'm not sure but I don't mind them. I don't think I'd get them again but I rate them 3.5/5.

The Fudge Factory. Gummy Bears Review.

 

For those who didn't know I used to do Youtube and I was known as Gummybear Queen LOL I loved gummy bears growing up but I have discovered I hate all of them now but two brand (the mini cubs from Bulk Barn and Haribo gold bears) but I'm always still on the hunt for more brands that could be good. I have done two other gummy bear reviews (search them on my blog) and this time I'm reviewing the gummy bears from the fudge factory.

They all smell funky, I can't describe it but it's sweet and almost good smelling but how do they taste?

Green is kinda lemon lime 2/5.

Light Green is kinda green apple 3/5

Orange is orange meets cleaner 1/5

Purple is kinda grape meets some other fruit and cleaner 1/5

Red is kinda apple or cherry meets cleaner 2/5

Light red is watermelon meet cherry 3/5

Pink is kinda grapefruit meets watermelon meets cleaner 2/5

Blue is blue raspberry but really bad version like a knock off jello 2/5

White is pineapple meets cleaner 3/5

Overall a bad batch, YIKES.

Oven Baked. Fudge Mint Cookies Review.

These aren't too bad, I like the chocolate and mint combo but I'm just not crazy about the cookie itself. They are a bit too rich for me and a bit dry of course by the nature of this cookie. I don't think I'd get them again and I rate them 3/5.

Thai Cuisine Experts. Chili Chicken Review.

I'm a lover of Thai food so I wanted to try this place out for review.

I ordered the chili chicken at medium spice and it was not bad overall. The chicken wasn't that good though and I didn't like the rice they used BUT the sauce was rather good, as well as the veggies. I wouldn't get this dish again but if I went back I'd try something else and I rate it 2.5/5.

Fuwa Fuwa. Japanese Pancakes Review.

 

A friend and I went for Japanese pancakes, these looked amazing and I wanted to try them for review.

This plate was 16 bucks and I will tell you now, it only looked good, it did not taste good. The fruits were amazing better and sweeter than other fruits I've had before, the syrup was good and as well as the whipped cream. The pancakes themselves were bad, the first bite I thought it was nice soft and fluffy but BOY it got worse as I ate, it just tasted like warm mushy eggs, just so much egg flavour. It was not worth the price but I'm glad I tried them out for the first time and for review. I would not get them again and I rate them 2/5

Divya. Mixed Vegetable Curry Review.

 

I have done two reviews from this brand (search them on my blog) and this time I'm doing the mixed veggie curry.

These boxes are not labelled properly, the medium ones have not been much spicy or no spice AND the mild one here is maybe medium or on the spicier side, depending who you ask. 

It was overall not bad but this was my least favourite of the three I tried and I enjoyed the veggies most. I would not eat it again and I rate it 2.5/5.

Wings Up. Poutine Review.

I find poutine with wedges instead of fries blasphemy but I wanted to try it once in my life, so I ordered a poutine from Wings Up.

This was delicious, the wedges threw me off a bit as an idea but it was worth trying. I loved all of it, the wedges, the cheese curds and the gravy, it was all so good to me. It was 9 bucks though which I wasn't crazy about but I also think it was worth it on flavour alone, serving size not so much. I would order this again next time I'm craving poutine and I rate it 4.5/5, I'd give it a 5 if it was fries over the wedges haha. 

Update: I've gone once more since this review and it was just okay like 3.5/5, I'm sad it's not always so delicious haha.

President's Choice. Portuguese Chicken Chips Review.

 

I've done quite a few reviews from this brand (search them on my blog) and this time I'm doing chips, the Portuguese chicken chips.

These taste like chicken of course and are so very spiced, a bit too spicy for me but they weren't terrible. I wouldn't get them again and I rate them 2.5/5.

Divya. Paneer Tikka Review.

 

I recently did another review from this brand (search it on my blog) and this time I'm doing a review for the Paneer Tikka, it's a cheese curry.

This one was medium and had medium spice. It wasn't too bad tasting but I have discovered since this was my second or third time having a tikka dish, that I don't love the dish but wasn't bad. I don't think I'd buy it again but I'd eat it again if offered and I rate it 3/5.

Divya. Aloo Mutter Review.

 

This is my first time getting a ready to eat meal from this brand, I bought 3 for 5 bucks, stay tuned for the other reviews but today I'm trying out a potato and pea curry called Aloo Mutter, it's Punjabi.

This is a good single serve meal, I plan to buy more of these if they still have them for sale tomorrow. This was DELICIOUS, it said medium spice but it was more like mild the kick was very minimal. I like how simple but good this dish was, of course it's probably not as good as scratch but this was good! Again I plan to pick up 3 more tomorrow and I rate it 4.5/5.

Yummy Yummy. Strawberry Gummies Review.

 

I have done I think two other gummy strawberry reviews (search them on my blog) and I'm doing another one today.

These tasted kinda like medicine but not as bad as others I've had, I think gummy strawberry are usually a miss. I wouldn't get them again but eat them if offered, I rate them 3/5.

Denny's. Chicken Addiction Bowl Review.

 

I have done a few reviews for this resturant (search it on my blog) and this time I'm trying the chicken addiction bowl.

This is a bowl of rice, broccoli, mushrooms, chicken and sauce. I didn't like the rice they used, I wish it was any other kind of rice but the rest of it was delicious, this also wouldve been good with a pasta. I wouldn't order it again but I rate it 3.5/5.
