My First Pork Bun Review.

So I went to an Asian supermarket and they had pork buns, which surprisingly I have never had. The sign mentioned how much 6 is an I thought that was just like a discount price if bought in "bulk" but I wanted just one, I told the woman I wanted one. She turned to the young man shopping and I looked at them both and that's when he said to me in English: "She said you have to buy 6." So I felt like an IDIOT lmao! But I thanked him and I bought 6 haha.

I was always a little nervous about them but I don't know why, I like pork. I also never was in a store that sold any, until they put this store in. I'm glad I got them though for review, as they were pretty good. I wanted more filling and the filling to be more distributed through the bun BUT otherwise it was nice. The pork bun tasted like something else I've had but I can't put my finger on it, the filling though was pretty good and the buns was greasy, which I'm always down for haha. I would consider getting more but 6 is a whole lot, maybe if I really felt like pork buns I'd do it again. I rate my first pork bun a 3.5/5.

Noochgirls. NoochPop Popcorn Review.

I picked up this popcorn, it's 'kinda nacho' flavour. I hated them, they tasted like if you poured powdered chili on nachos at the gas station and I don't mean 7-11 gas station, I mean run down gas station kinda chili nachos. I cannot waste as the bag was 5 bucks and to me that's too much to just throw away, so I will eat them. I'm bummed they didn't work out but I rate them 1/5.

Birthday Cake Rice Krispies Square Review.

I have done one other Rice Crispies Squares review (search it on my blog) and this time I'm trying the birthday cake squares.

I'm in a like-hate relationship with birthday cake flavoured foods but I love rice krispy squares. I didn't like the icing or yogurt base and the square as a whole wasn't great. I found it overly sweet which I get but it just wasn't for me. I wouldn't get them again but glad I did them for review, I rate them 2.5/5.

Settlement Co. Chocolate Chip Powerball Review.

I popped into this little cafe to use the bathroom and of course I had to pick something up. It was my first time going in and I was ready to try things for review. Their menu is a little pricey, we are talking a bit more than Starbucks, price-wise. They had sandwiches for like 9 dollars and they had an array of others foods, like waffles and I even heard pizza. This time around I just wanted something cheap and something to just snack on and go. 

I got these powerballs, they were on discount when you buy two, so I did. They had a few flavours but I got the chocolate chip ones. These balls are made of coconut, chocolate chips and peanut butter. They were so peanut buttery and thick, they were very rich though and filling. I actually ended up taking the second one to go but it was a nice great. I got the 2 for 5 bucks and I think they were worth the price. I don't know if I'd get them again as they weren't really for me but I'm glad I tried them. I'm looking forward to trying other items on their menu, like their over-priced sandwiches and their other foods. I rate these powerballs 3.5/5.

Frontera. Tinga Taco Bowl Review.

I have done two other Frontera reviews (search them on my blog) and I'm trying the third one. I don't know if they have other flavours than these, I will have to take a look when I'm next at the grocery store.

This bowl is the Tinga taco bowl. It wasn't too bad actually, I'm not TOO crazy about it but it was a good item for review and for a light lunch. The meat and veggies were good but there was something off either the rice or the sauce...I can't tell. I like it almost as much as the fajita bowl and less than the chicken verde bowl. I don't know if I'd get it again due to price but I rate it 3/5.

Bakerly. Chocolate Hazelnut Filled Crepes Review.

I had never seen these before but I like crepes and thought I'd pick them up. These are a little snack to just grab and go. These are little crepes filled with chocolate hazelnut spread, so basically Nutella. I found these though were doughy and not filled enough but a good little snack. I think the whole bag was 4.99 if I remember. I don't know if I'd get them again, maybe if I was craving them or they were on discount. I rate them 3/5.

Lindt Creation. Mint Chip Chocolate Review.

I have dental nerve damage, I've had it for 5 weeks now, it's been tough and doing this review was tough too but I powered through :D.

I like mint chocolate and I knew I'd like this bar. This chocolate tastes a lot like an After Eight. If you don't know what that is, maybe I could describe it as like a York Peppermint Patty but this is more chocolate and less minty but the balance of chocolate and mint in this bar is good. 

Besides the pain it caused me, I enjoyed this chocolate. I would get it again if on sale (like it was this time) but otherwise I think I'd only eat it if offered to me. I rate it 4/5.

Writing Prompts Challenge 1.

Using the website: http://writingexercises.co.uk/firstlinegenerator.php I am going to write out a few line based on the line given to me. *Note I know the site is for first line's but I'm not doing them as first lines, I just decided to put them in where I saw fit and what I could work with.*

Prompt 1: "They'd only been apart for a week and already he had a new lover hanging off his arm."

Sophie scrolled through Instagram, passing the time this Sunday morning. She then came across photos of her ex boyfriend and a woman she had never seen before. They had only been apart for a week and already he had a new lover hanging off his arm. She wondered if he had been seeing her behind her back, or if he was just grabbing any random woman he could get his hands on. She was not envious but she did feel a bit upset that he would jump so quick, it made her look bad. She curled in her lips, closing the app. She wondered if she should do the same, yet she wasn't always one for being spiteful. Maybe she should simmer on down with a glass of wine and think things over, as her sober actions were usually irrational and more dangerous than her when she was drunk....somehow.

Prompt 2: "She sat in the chair, staring into space, while the kids charged around above her, yelling at the tops of their voices"

Andrea was exhausted and it was only Monday, it seemed to always be a Monday. She sat in the chair, staring into space, while the kids charged around above her, yelling at the tops of their voices. She just groaned, rubbing her temples and recalling it was too early for them to be causing this much ruckus but then she remembered how quiet it was before they came into her life and she then felt a little better about it, she just wishes they would lower their tone and sit down. She was grateful for them and loved them of course but Monday morning, every morning....she was rather tired. A smile spread across her face though, even if she dying for a cup of coffee.

Prompt 3: "He opened the door to find her standing there, crying."

Zander was exhausted after a long day of work and he was in a little rush to get home and relax. He pulled into his driveway and stepped out of the car, grabbing his briefcase. He closed the door and made his way up the driveway, something felt off. He opened the door to find standing there, crying. "Lydia, what's wrong?" He asked, setting his case down. "Zander, I-" He pulled her into his arms, wrapping them around her. She sobbed, "Zander, I have something to tell you." He pulled back, wiping the tears from her face but still they poured. "What is it?" He asked again. "I'm- I'm pregnant." "You're what?!" She nodded. They were both equally surprised and the whole world stood still. "I'm going to be father?" She nodded again. The shock overtook them and had no words, he just held her as she continued to cry.

Prompt 4: "She was carried along by the crowd"

Lady Sarah felt euphoric performing on stage, she loved the lights and sounds and all the people. They would scream and cry and sing along, their smiles made her whole life. She was so passionate in her music and it's been her saving grace, each and every person was her saving grace. She sang with so much soul and so much emotion and that was what each person needed from her and got from her. She stepped forward at the edge of the stage, singing her heart out. She then raised her arms and let out a deep cry of happiness. The crowed cheered for her and she then took this time to jump and she was carried along by the crowd. Each person helped passed her along through the ocean of people and back.

Prompt 5: "It was the trip of a lifetime"

Adrian and Joel had been dying to get away, they hadn't seen each othere in 3 years but it felt like longer. They had missed each other with all they had and when they met again, they ran into each other's arms and hugged for dear life. They were best friends, almost like brother's but Adrian was starting to feel something more, yet he held it all in not to disrupt things with Joel but to be honest it ate at him. The guys decided to take a road trip across the map, they had been waiting months to do this and now they finally could. The days went by and despite the knot in Adrian's stomach, it was the trip of a lifetime.

Old Dutch. Crispy Bacon Chips Review.

I love the Old Dutch sour cream and green onion, it's my favourite Old Dutch chip. This time I came across the crispy bacon flavour, I have not yet tried.

So it tastes kinda meaty I guess, not too much like bacon more like beef gravy almost, it's a little smokey and tastes alright. I don't know if I'd get them again but I rate them 3/5.

From Our Chefs. Penne Alfredo Kit Review.

I swear I did a review on one of these kits before but I can't seem to find it when I try and search it on my blog, I did a rice and chicken kit. This kit is for penne alfredo.

This kit comes with pasta, sauce and cheese, the pasta is precooked and the sauce just needed to be heated up.

This overall was a horrible experience. It was a good amount of food, compared to the other kit but the taste of this was BAD. It took so long to warm up, it seemed to just be cold regardless of how long you warmed it and I liked the sauce until I added the cheese, the cheese was off and it made the whole dish smell and taste funky, I only put cheese on top but nonetheless it wasn't good, I forced myself to eat most of it. I would NOT get this kit again, especially for a whopping 12 dollars. I rate it 1.5/5, I give it a 1.5 because the penne on its own was fine and so was the sauce.

Pizza Ritz Bits Sandwiches Review.

So I have had a few Ritz sandwiches, the smores one is the only one I like to be honest but I thought I'd try out some of these pizza ones for review.

They taste odd, pizza like but odd and I'm not crazy about them. It was said they taste like pizza Pringles but I don't quite see that but they aren't awful. These just taste like powdery tomato and cheese with a weird texture. I wouldn't get them again and I rate the 2.5/5.

Pickle Barrel. Peach Bellini, Strawberry Bellini and Meatloaf Dinner Review.

I went to Pickle Barrel for my birthday, I had not yet been and thought I'd try it out.

I got the strawberry bellini but ended up switching to the peach one with my sister, so I got to try both for review. I then ordered the meatloaf dinner.

The peach bellini I ended up switching with her for, was awful. There was something so gross about it, maybe it was their choice of vodka, I'm not sure but I regret having to drink it. I have had much better ones at East Side Mario's. I rate this drink 1/5.

The strawberry bellini I first ordered I hated aswell, that's why I wanted to switch in the first place. This drink tasted like medicine and my god do I hate that flavour, the peach one was good from the start but quickly got worse, this was just bad from the get go, I rate it 1.5/5.

The meatloaf dinner came with of course meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies and the meatloaf was topped with fried onions. The meatloaf was not that good, a rather sad meatloaf and I love meatloaf, I would not get it again, I rate it 2.5/5. The gravy (and if you know me, I'm a huge lover of gravy, I mentioned it recently) it was one of my least favourite gravies, it was good to help the meatloaf along but otherwise no, I rate it 2/5. The veggies were good, just veggies haha. The fried onions on the meatloaf were delicious, I could eat a whole bowl hahaha! I rate them 4/5. Lastly the mashed potatoes, they weren't too bad, I would eat them again but dry as the gravy kinda ruined them, I rate it 3.5/5.

Overall this place was not great food wise and it was overpriced for their small portions. I would not go again but it was cool to try for review.

My First Donair Review.

I have once had a frozen donair from the grocery store but this was my first time having a real one. I love wrap like foods, so I was excited to try this out.

I loved the donair, the meat was really good but the sauce I only liked while I ate the rest of it, if I got a taste of the sauce on it's own I hated it. Overall the experience was pretty good and I'd try it at other spots or with different sauces (my second time having it I opted out the donair sauce and got bbq sauce instead which I thought was better) and I rate it 3.5/5.

Tim Hortons. Donut Stick Review.

I think I had once heard about them prior to me going to Timmies but when I went in I bought them on impulse.

They were hard as a rock and the flavour wasn't great, I was told by other's that they were good and that maybe mine were a bad batch. I would consider trying them again but as my first try, it was bad. I rate them 1/5. I will re-do this review or an updated post if I try them again, in hopes for fresher.

Update: I have since had one that isn't stale and the flavour still wasn't great but it was a lot nicer fresh. I prefer the Tacobell churros to these though.

Mama's Restaurant. Chicken & Fries Review.

I wasn't hungry to be honest, I have been going through dental issues for weeks now and it hurts to eat but I couldn't starve of course so we went into this little restaurant and I ordered a two piece chicken with fries and gravy.

The fries were pretty good, they were nicely seasoned and reminded me of some good diner fries. I would get them again, I rate them 3.5/5.

The chicken was delicious, I loved the skin and the seasoning on it and I loved how much meat there was, it was good quality chicken too with striations. I would get it again and I rate it 4.5/5.

For those who don't know, I am a gravy WOORE and I can tell which gravies are good and which are not. This though is a good gravy and I just wish there was more of it for my food. I don't think the seasoning of the fries went that well with the gravy but it was delicious with the chicken. I rate it 4.5/5.

Tony's Bistro & Pâtisserie. Chocolate Chip Cookie, Croissant and Carrot Cake Review.

I just did a review on Tony's (search it on my blog) on the macrons, this review is for the chocolate chip cookie, croissant and carrot cake.

The chocolate chip cookie was rather tough, it wasn't soft like I wanted, it also didn't taste good. I wouldn't get it again, I rate it 1.5/5.

The croissant was hard on the end but the middle was flaky and soft. I thought it tasted over-cooked and I would consider it again if I went maybe earlier in the day. I rate it 3/5.

Lastly this carrot cake, it looks really nice and the cake part was good but the icing I didn't like and felt it was too sugary. I would not get it again but I'm glad I tried it for review. I rate it 2.5/5.

Tony's Bistro & Pâtisserie. Macron Review.

We went into Tony's and I was eyeing the macrons, I'm always open to trying them. I have done a few other macron reviews on my blog (search macron) and I thought, why not do another?

This blue one is blueberry flavour, it was alright. I'm not crazy about the texture compared to other ones I've had but the flavour wasn't too bad, normally though I prefer blueberries to blueberry flavours. I don't know if I'd get it again, I rate it 2.5/5.

This red one is raspberry flavour, I didn't like it, except the chocolate filling was good. I don't know if I'd get it again though, I wasn't here for the texture of this macron and I rate it 1.5/5.

This final flavour is tie-dye, the filling is chocolate and this macron was rather good, kinda fruity, I wish I had just bought a box of these haha. I would consider getting them again, I rate it 4/5.

Tim Hortons. Omelette Bites Review.

I've been eyeing these for a while now, they have two flavours the ham and the spinach. The ham is with the whole egg and the spinach is egg whites.

I loved the ham bite, it was like a crustless quiche and it was hot and soft. I would get it again and I rate it 5/5.

I liked the spinach bite but of course egg whites don't have as much flavour but it was still good for someone who just wants the egg whites, I don't know if I'd get it again but I rate it 3.5/5.
