Harvey's. Pickle Pickle Poutine Review.

 

I've done quite a few reviews from this restaurant (search them on my blog) and today I'm trying the pickle pickle poutine. This is a regular poutine (fries, gravy and cheese curds) but topped with ranch, chopped pickles and fried pickle sticks on top.

I fell in love with the first bite, I was nervous about ranch and gravy but it worked; it tasted a lot like fair food. Though the more I ate it, the less I liked it and felt it was too rich, too heavy and it did not need the fried pickle sticks in my opinion. I bought a regular but only could stomach half (as I also ate a hot dog). I'd consider getting it again but on its own and if I'm craving it but I rate it 3.5/5.

Tim Hortons. Smile Cookie Review.

 

I just did a review and many others from this restaurant (search them on my blog) and today I'm reviewing smile cookie. These are a once a year item usually spring to fall, I missed doing my review back in September when they were on sale last but I've been eating these a a lot of my life, so I had just failed to review them.

These are delicious chocolate chunk cookies with yummy sweet icing and adorable personlities, these are my favourite cookies from here and I'm sad they are only once a year. I will continue to buy them each year and I rate them 5/5.

Tim Hortons. Holiday Smile Cookie Review.

 

I've done many reviews from this restaurant (search them on my blog) and today I'm trying the holiday smile cookies; they are for one week only.

These are pretty good, festive and cute but I could only eat one, they are rich, heavy and a bit too sickly sweet. The original smile cookies are a lot better but these are just okay. I would eat one if offered but I would not buy them again and I rate them 3/5.

I don't think I've ever done a review for the regular smile cookies but I will do one, they are also limited time (Usually spring or fall) but I can still post one, stay tuned!

Manon Bakery. Various Baked Goods Review.

 

This is my first but likely not the last time at this bakery. I got quite the array of sweet and savoury pieces. Sorry, I didn't get a better photo of the strawberry croissant, it's shown above in the bottom. One of the items (the rock shaped item) in the first photo is missing a review, I'm not sure what it was or my review on it, sorry!

The strawberry croissant was DELICIOUS! It was massive and honestly the best piece of the whole menu. It's $6.50 but worth every penny, I have to rave about the strawberries themselves, they were the nicest I've ever eaten, I wish the croissant had more strawberries haha! I rate it 5/5.

The castella was not for me I found it was not the flavour profile I like in a cake but my mom really liked it. I rate it 2/5.

The apple strudel, it was pretty good, one of the nicest strudels I've had even though I don't normally like them but this was good. I rate it 4.5/5.

The pizza, was a very interesting eat, it was two slices of bread with cheese and toppings on it, it was good on first bite but this was my least favourite savoury piece but not too bad. I rate it 2/5.

The hot dog baguette was my favourite savoury piece, it was better than one's I've had elsewhere. I rate it 4.5/5.

The bacon roll, it was like a meat and cheese roll wrapped in bacon, it was good and had a garlicky flavour but not as nice to eat once cold. I rate it 3.5/5.

The twist donuts were a miss for me and my mom but my sister liked them, I found they were too doughy and had a flavour I didn't like. I rate it 2/5.

The M&M cookie was good, it had peanut M&Ms on it, this was nice overall. I rate it 3.5/5.

Lastly the banana bread, it was so cute but I didn't like the flavour myself, there was something off about it compared to other banana breads I've had but my mom and sister liked it. I rate it 1.5/5.

Hazukido. Various Croissants Review.

 

This is first time at this pastry shop but it likely won't be the last. I got 6 croissants and garlic bites:

Chicken cheese: it was not for me, it was a bit too sweet and just not great overall. I rate it 2.5/5.

Caramel almond: I feel something is a bit off, maybe the filling but overall nice, especially the croissant. I rate it 3.5/5.

Raspberry Pana cotta: some bites were good but some bites were bad, the filling was not for me but the croissant is nice. I rate it 2/5.

Chocolate banana: had nice filling, a lovely croissant it's absolutely delicious and great with the bananas on top, my favourite item and probably one of the best croissants I've ever had. I rate it 4.5/5.

Strawberry: the croissant was pretty good but a bit overdone tasting and textured, in my opinion but good with the strawberries on top. I rate it 3/5.

Garlic bites: I did not like the texture of the croissant nor the flavour of the garlic spread it was oddly sweet, my least favourite item. I rate them 0/5.

I'd go again just for the chocolate banana croissant alone.

Layers of Joy. Indian Fusion Desserts Review.

Tried these Indian desserts for the first time, I got 2 shots and 2 glasses. 

Rose and nuts glass: nicer than I thought, floral taste that's not too strong and overall pretty good. I rate it 3/5.

Biscoff glass: really good but needs more Biscoff. I rate it 4/5.

Rabdi Falooda shot: It has clear noodles in it which were new to me, it's funky. This tastes like fruit loops and I could do without the noodles, I'm not keen on it but not too bad. I rate it 2/5.

Mango Rasmalai shot: No noodles in this one and it tastes a lot like a mango lassi, which is an Indian mango drink I believe is made with a type of yogurt. It's not for me but nice overall with a strong mango flavour. Sadly it completely ruined my stomach, I wouldn't recommend for those with bowel and dairy/lactose issues. I rate it 2.5/5 based on taste not based on my stomach haha.

Alani Nu. Witch's Brew Energy Drink Review.

 

This is my first time trying this brand, I have another flavour in the fridge (stay tuned for that) but today I'm trying the Witch's Brew.

It tastes like pop (maybe Sprite) with mixed Halloween candy, it's not too bad but not for me. I don't think I'd drink or buy it again and I rate it 2.5/5.

Debrodniks Donuts. Various Donuts Review.

I've done one other review from this bakery (search it on my blog) and today I bought 4 different donuts. Two of them I reviewed the other two I did not.

Lemon pie: my little brother said it was good, though he would've preferred lemon cream over jelly filling and rated it 3/5.

Earl Grey: sweet and light in tea flavour, very soft and smelled divine and I rate it 3.5/5.

Cinnamon sugar shortie: it tastes like a grocery store donut and the filling is not that sweet and I rate it 2.5/5

Coconut: my mom loved it, the filling was nice and light, it was not overpowering and went well with the donut. The donut was amazing and the coconut topping was well done and didn't fall apart, with the donut having the right amount of sweetness and she rated it a 5/5.
